Matt Ritter is kidnapped while investigating rumors of a monster in a dense forest near the Lakeside Nuclear Power Facility which is operated by Patrick Kenderson. Lana Lang and Clark Kent search the forest and discover the tragic origins of the creature. With all his super powers, Superboy is not able to save the creature from the guns of local hunters.
