    “Clark Kent & Superboy” (Seasons 2-4; 1989-1992)

    Gerard Christopher (born May 11, 1959) in New York City) is an American actor, writer and producer. He was the second actor to play the role of Superboy in the television series of the same name (from 1989 to 1992), replacing John Haymes Newton who played the role in season one (1988–1989). During his tenure on Superboy he would later also be a producer and writer on the series. He has performed in a number of telemovies, and was a guest star on daytime soap operas such as Days of Our Lives and Sunset Beach, and the prime time soap opera Melrose Place. He has also starred in the comedy movie Tomboy (1985).

    Gerard auditioned for the part of Superman / Clark Kent in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and was chosen by the casting director. However, when the producers learned he had essentially already played the role, he was dismissed in favor of Dean Cain.

    His most recent film role (as of 2003) was “Zack” in the movie The First of May (1999). He also appeared as himself on the 2006 television documentary Look, Up in the Sky: The Amazing Story of Superman talking about his time on Superboy. – 

    He was chosen to play Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993), until the producer who hired him read his acting resume and discovered that he had previously starred in Superboy (1988). According to Christopher, the producer said, “You’ve done this already, I want someone who hasn’t acted before!” He was then dismissed from the room, and the role was given to Dean Cain.

    He was 30 years old when he made his debut as the title character in Superboy (1988), making him older than Christopher ReeveDean CainBrandon RouthHenry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin when they made their respective debuts as Superman.

    Is one of twelve children, born to a family of Italian ancestry.

    He was a male model and worked in New York, City Italy and Japan before moving to Los Angeles to begin his acting career.

    He graduated from USC with a degree in business.

    He is skilled at kick-boxing.

    Gerard used to bully his younger brother but would beat up anybody else who hurt him.

    Gerard’s father Anthony was a B-26 Marauder Bomber captain in WW-II which inspired Gerard to become a general aviation pilot.

    Although he doesn’t necessarily look like the “construction guy” type but Gerard is a talented builder. He’s a perfectionist and prefers to do home improvements himself and as rebuilt his home making bathrooms, decks, grilling stations, masonry, tile, plumbing and electrical work.. He had a home flipping business and did about 10 homes.
