“Clark Kent & Superboy” (Seasons 2-4; 1989-1992)
Gerard Christopher (born May 11, 1959) in New York City) is an American actor, writer and producer. He was the second actor to play the role of Superboy in the television series of the same name (from 1989 to 1992), replacing John Haymes Newton who played the role in season one (1988–1989). During his tenure on Superboy he would later also be a producer and writer on the series. He has performed in a number of telemovies, and was a guest star on daytime soap operas such as Days of Our Lives and Sunset Beach, and the prime time soap opera Melrose Place. He has also starred in the comedy movie Tomboy (1985).

Gerard auditioned for the part of Superman / Clark Kent in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and was chosen by the casting director. However, when the producers learned he had essentially already played the role, he was dismissed in favor of Dean Cain.

He was chosen to play Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993), until the producer who hired him read his acting resume and discovered that he had previously starred in Superboy (1988). According to Christopher, the producer said, “You’ve done this already, I want someone who hasn’t acted before!” He was then dismissed from the room, and the role was given to Dean Cain.
He was 30 years old when he made his debut as the title character in Superboy (1988), making him older than Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin when they made their respective debuts as Superman.

Although he doesn’t necessarily look like the “construction guy” type but Gerard is a talented builder. He’s a perfectionist and prefers to do home improvements himself and as rebuilt his home making bathrooms, decks, grilling stations, masonry, tile, plumbing and electrical work..
